(Costantino Kavafis)
Fernando Sironi loved traveling, forever in search of beauty and new discoveries.
He would return home, suitcases overspilling with precious objects, simply exotic and extravagant trinkets: fabrics, carpets, incense, statues of gods and goddesses, beloved Buddhas in tranquil poses– all having lived between his belongings during his travels. What’s more, after a long journey, he would bring along many fascinating stories too.
During his brief stopovers in Tortona, Fernando would take full advantage of this Suite’s ever-enveloping comfort, to continue imagining and organising new trips, like a second Ulysses.
“Ithaka gave you the marvelous journey.
Without her you would not have set out”. (Costantino Kavafis)
